Beautification Grant Program
Sandusky, Ohio — HDB Grant Funding can be used for the following purposes: Substantial Redevelopment
$5,000 grant assistance for eligible projects that cost $20,000 or more
$7,500 grant assistance for eligible projects that cost $50,000 or more
Certain permits, inspections, and registered contractors may be required
Exterior Repairs
Grant assistance of 50% of eligible project costs (maximum grant amount $3,000)
Projects include exterior home repairs and improvements which can be seen from the main public right of way, including but not limited to painting, siding, porch repairs, roof repairs, and window replacement.

Home Purchase Assistance
Grant assistance of up to $5,000 for eligible home purchases
Grants may be used for the acquisition of residential dwellings that will be owner-occupied.
This assistance will be in the form of a grant check issued to the title agency at the time of closing.
Who can apply?
Eligible property owners that occupy the home as their primary full-time residence within the City of Sandusky
Anyone in contract to purchase a home that will be owner occupied within the boundaries of the City of Sandusky
What is eligible?
Residential property containing 3 units or less and owner occupied
New construction of residential property
Physical improvements to the dwelling that can be seen from the main public right of way
Purchase of a home within the boundaries of the City of Sandusky

Completed applications can dropped in the SECURE DROP BOX directly inside the lobby doors
Applications will not be reviewed without the following:
Substantial Redevelopment – Must submit the project cost estimates, budget or proforma
Exterior Repair Program – Must submit the project cost estimates
Home Purchase Assistance – Must submit Purchase Agreement, Loan Estimate and Owner Occupancy Affidavit
**Purchase Assistance is only for applicants that will owner occupy the home for 3 or more years
All applications require a W-9 form completed by the applicant. We can not pay out the funds without one
